Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced plans for a 99-key luxury resort in Tangier, Morocco.
Marking its fourth property in the country, Four Seasons Resort Tangier will form part of Royal Resort Cap Malabata, a luxury development backed by GFH Bank, in the city's Cap Malabata district.
Overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar, with views across to Spain, the cliffside property will feature 99 guest rooms and suites including 27 standalone villas and more than 260 meters of waterfront.
The resort has been designed by Arjitec, with interiors by Goddard Littlefair. Facilities will include four restaurants, a spa and fitness center, swimming pools, waterfront lounging areas and indoor and outdoor event spaces. The development will also feature Four Seasons' Kids For All Seasons program.
“As our fourth property in Morocco, Four Seasons Resort Tangier expands our collection in one of the region's most compelling destinations," Ricardo Suarez, group head of development at Four Seasons, said in prepared remarks.
The project is being developed in partnership with Royal Resort Cap Malabata, whose chief executive, Abdulwahed Al Kooheji, pointed to Tangier's strategic location, cultural heritage and waterfront setting as key attractions.
“Together with Four Seasons, we look forward to creating a world-class resort that will further enhance the city's luxury hospitality offerings and build upon its continued growth as a leading destination in the region,” he said.
The resort will be located around 15 minutes from Tangier's high-speed railway station and 45 minutes from Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport.
An opening date and investment figures were not disclosed.
