Molori Safari, a safari company in the Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa, has announced the opening of its second property, Molori Mashuma, a luxury tented camp in Mana Pools, Zimbabwe.
Part of Rora Private Collection, Molori Mashuma provides design-led accommodations, personalized service and expert-guided activities. With just six fully air-conditioned tented suites, guests will enjoy the utmost privacy and tranquility, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the bush.
The design concept, which draws inspiration from the local environment, was brought to life by Johannesburg-based designers, Hesse Kleinloog Studios. Crafters, artists and local communities were commissioned to create tactile elements, with creative weaving and embroidery techniques adding layered elements of surprise throughout the camp. The esthetic is bold and eclectic, keeping with the signature style of the Molori’s original lodge in Madikwe.
At Molori Mashuma, guests will have the opportunity to embark on a range of adventurous activities. For game-viewing, there are three areas—the riverfront, the pools and the wilderness areas behind the reservoirs—each offering their own opportunities for wildlife sightings and photography. Walking safaris in this diverse ecosystem are sure to be among the most rewarding in all of Africa. Open seasonally from the beginning of April to the end of October, when the high waters recede, the remaining pools become excellent game-viewing locations as wildlife flock to these natural watering holes. Expert guide and conservationist Eric Ichikowitz describes these as “the holy grail” for photographers. Equally memorable is the romance of dining at the foot of 1,000-year-old baobabs and bush breakfasts and picnics on the game-rich banks of the Zambezi.
Molori Mashuma is accepting bookings for the 2023 season through October 31 and will reopen for its first full season on April 1, 2024.
