Six Senses has been turning heads with some talked-about new hotels, including five lodges in Bhutan, the brand’s first urban hotel in Singapore and a beach resort in Fiji. In fact, the eco-conscious, Bangkok-based brand is currently in expansion mode as it looks to triple its portfolio within the next five years—it’ll also be taking on New York with a city hotel slated to open in 2019.
The latest in the luxury line-up will be Six Senses Uluwatu on the southernmost tip of Bali. Originally scheduled to debut in March 2018, the luxury resort will now open its doors on August 1, with all facilities fully operational. (June 1 saw a “sneak preview” with select dining venues and villas open.) Perched on limestone cliffs above the ocean in Pecatu, near the famous Uluwatu Temple, the resort aims to immerse travelers in the area’s rich spiritual and culinary tradition, also imbued with beach culture and surfing.
Six Senses Uluwatu has been designed with local materials and landscaped with lush vegetation to blend into the surrounding environment. The accommodations—103 villas and suites, including the stunning “Presidential Villa” and “The Retreat” (a “resort within a resort” concept)—offer magnificent views over the Indian Ocean. Highlights include a spa with 10 treatment rooms, a yoga studio, a rich program of cultural experiences and the clifftop restaurants and bars—serving up sustainable cuisine and sweeping vistas.
Six Senses currently operates 16 resorts and 31 spas in 21 countries under the brands Six Senses, Evason and SixSenses Spa.
