Guided vacations company Trafalgar has donated 10,000 trees to support the regeneration of lands across the eastern Australian seaboard, which was recently devastated by fires that raged across the country.
“Reforestation has been a core part of our business for a number of years with multiple initiatives alongside our longstanding partner One Tree Planted, including planting a tree for every customer that chooses to travel paper free, with 222 acres of trees planted so far across Northern California and Tanzania” said Trafalgar’s CEO Gavin Tollman in a written release.
Like the name suggests, JoinTrafalgar is driven by an ongoing commitment to encourage customers to join the company’s mission to “Make Travel Matter” with a year-round global impact across its three pillars, in partnership with a number of organizations around the world. More than 60 percent of itineraries visit one or more UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and Trafalgar offers 80 JoinTrafalgar initiatives that make a positive impact.
Over the past four years, in lieu of Christmas gifts, Trafalgar has made an annual contribution as a thank you for the support that the brand has received throughout the year from staff, partners and guests. An example of previous holiday gifting included working alongside another longstanding partner, social enterprise ME to WE, to build schools in underprivileged communities as a place to support learning, development and growth in places that need it most.
