On June 19, Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts unveiled its sixth property when it hosted the opening event for Bvlgari Film Week, part of the Shanghai International Film Festival. Set on the banks of the Suzhou Creek and just minutes from the Bund and Shanghai City Centre, The Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai is the latest luxury accommodation in China’s biggest city.
The 82-room property comprises the top eight floors a 48-story tower which adjoins to the restored Chamber of Commerce Shanghai building, offering views of the Bund and Pudong’s skyline. The historic Chamber of Commerce Shanghai building, which was originally completed in 1916, houses a BVLGARI Ballroom with triple-height ceilings and the haute-cuisine Chinese restaurant Bao Li Xuan. Lush gardens surround the property, completing the contemporary look. Like all Bvlgari properties, the design and architecture are the vision of Italian firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel.
The hotel’s BVLGARI Spa and fitness center offer a retreat to balance the body, mind and spirit in style. The BVLGARI Spa is home to eight treatment rooms, a heated indoor pool and vitality pools, as well as the latest outpost of the bespoke fitness studio WORKSHOP Gymnasium.
The third Il Ristorante-Niko Romito is located on the 47th floor of The Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai. Sharing the 47th floor, Il Bar is set against the backdrop of the Bund riverfront and Pudong skyline. Il Bar’s centerpiece oval counter, inspired by Rome’s famed Fontana della Barcaccia, has become a staple of the Bvlgari Hotels collection and is reimagined in each property.
