Abercrombie & Kent has announced a new Antarctica voyage for 2020 called, "Special Edition: Antarctica Discovery: Palmer's BiCentennial Expedition," honoring the 200th anniversary of Antarctica's discovery by Nathaniel Palmer, the seal hunter and explorer who, on November 18, 1820, became the first American explorer to discover mainland Antarctica. On this journey, passengers can sail alongside polar scientist Dr. Jim McClintock who will discuss the history, climate and wildlife of the region.
The 15-day cruise from January 16-30, 2020, lets guests discover Antarctica on a luxury expedition cruise limited to just 199 people. Explore the region from the exclusively chartered Le Lyrial, hand-chosen by Abercrombie & Kent.
Passengers can enjoy an all-inclusive cruise experience from start to finish with views from all-balcony accommodations; insight from Abercrombie & Kent's Expedition Team; onboard enrichment; a dining and beverage program; and complimentary Wi-Fi and Traveller’s Valet laundry service included on all cruises.
Travelers who don’t want to wait until 2020 can opt for the Antarctica, South Georgia & the Falkland Islands 2018-19 cruise, setting sail January 16, 2019. This voyage is currently on special for $19,995 from $23,995.
The Antarctica, South Georgia & the Falkland Islands 2018-19 voyage includes a few different stops along the way than the 2020 cruise – visiting the Falkland Islands’capital of Stanley, a tiny village known for its small shops, brightly colored houses, and Gentoo penguin colonies; and South Georgia, a nearly submerged continuation of the Andes Mountains known for albatrosses, Southern elephant seals and king penguins.
