AmaWaterways named its first British godmother: Advantage Travel Partnership CEO Julia Lo Bue-Said. On April 12, she will bless the river cruise company’s newest ship, the AmaDouro, at a special ceremony in Porto, Portugal.
The 102-passenger AmaDouro will offer 51 staterooms, most with outside balconies. Additional amenities include a Panoramic Lounge for nightly entertainment, a heated Sun Deck swimming pool, fitness room, massage room and more. It will join its sister ship AmaVida on the Douro River, sailing seven-night roundtrip Enticing Douro cruises. Its debut will be the first of three in 2019 for AmaWaterways, with AmaMora and AmaMagna following later this year.
As CEO for Advantage Travel Partnership, Bue-Said leads day-to-day operations and oversees strategic efforts and the overall vision of the company. Before joining Advantage, Bue-Said worked overseas at Thomas Cook, Balkan Holidays and The Best Travel Group. Now its CEO, she has spent more than 20 years working for Advantage Travel Partnership. In 2012, she was inducted into the Women's 1st Top 100 Club for Travel and Hospitality.
Offering river cruises for 17 years now, AmaWaterways operates 23 ships, sailing along the Danube, Rhine, Moselle, Main, Rhone, Seine, Garonne, Dordogne, Dutch and Belgian Waterways and Douro Rivers in Europe; the Mekong River in southeast Asia; and the Chobe River in Africa.
