AmaWaterways’ newest ship AmaSiena was christened on August 29, in Lahnstein, Germany by Godmother Debbie Fiorino, senior vice president and COO of Owned Brands for World Travel Holdings, in a ceremony attended by the luxury river cruise line's co-founders, President Rudi Schreiner and Executive Vice President Kristin Karst.
In a press statement, Karst said it was "particularly meaningful" to have Fiorino act as the ship's Godmother. “We continue to be inspired by the resiliency, passion and commitment of the travel advisor community and we are so proud to share this christening with the travel advisors and guests that joined us for this special event,” she added.
The company's newest addition to its fleet of 26 river vessels, AmaSiena is sister ship to AmaLucia, AmaMora, AmaLea and AmaKristina. The new ship has 78 spacious staterooms, the majority of which offer the cruise line's signature twin balconies (outside and French). Guests can enjoy gourmet dishes onboard at the Main Restaurant and The Chef’s Table, besides a new al fresco area in the Main Lounge that is designed for casual dining from a bistro-style menu. A choice of hand-selected regional wines and beer are also on offer during each meal. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary daily "Sip & Sail" cocktail hour.
Wellness enthusiasts can join the ship’s dedicated Wellness Host for guided group fitness classes, and hiking and biking tours, while those looking to relax can give the massage and hair salon services a try. AmaSiena also offers a Main Lounge with spacious seating areas and a heated pool and swim-up bar.
AmaSiena is offering several week-long itineraries on the Rhine including the "Enchanting Rhine," "Captivating Rhine" and "Christmas Markets on the Rhine" sailings. In 2022, the ship will also sail the Dutch and Belgium Waterways on the "Best of Holland & Belgium" itinerary.
