Atlas Ocean Voyages has reported the strongest January booking performance in the company’s history, signaling that its recent pivot toward "year-round yachting" and the unveiling of its future fleet are resonating with luxury travelers.
The cruise line announced that bookings for January 2026 grew by more than 60% compared to the same period last year and nearly tripled the volume from January 2024. According to Atlas, this surge comprises both bookings for the current fleet through Q1 2028 and immediate early deposits for the newly announced Atlas Adventurer, scheduled to debut in 2028.
Pricing Power and Rate Hikes
While the line introduced the Enhanced Explorer’s Choice value-add offer earlier this year, the record volume was not driven by discounting. Atlas Ocean Voyages President and CEO James A. Rodriguez confirmed to Luxury Travel Advisor that cruise fares have risen across all voyages starting in Q1 2025 due to progressively increasing demand.
Rodriguez noted that the line’s pricing power continues to grow, with the next anticipated fare increase scheduled for April 1.
Growth Beyond the Poles
The sales record also validates the line’s strategy to expand beyond its polar roots. Rodriguez reported a "nice bump in demand" for the Eastern and Western Mediterranean in January. This growth was driven largely by the line's Epicurean Expeditions, featuring guest chefs and experts such as Martin Castro Gimenez, Mara Papatheodorou, Massimo Capra, and Anna Wilamowska.
Demographic Shift and Trade Support
The pivot to a yachting identity appears to be attracting a fresh demographic. January bookings showed increased interest from slightly younger travelers, particularly for Antarctica itineraries, as well as luxury guests who are new to cruise but drawn to the brand’s immersive, experience-led positioning.
The majority of these record-breaking bookings were driven by trade partners, with volume coming from a blend of existing top accounts and new agency partnerships.
“January marked one of the strongest booking months in Atlas Ocean Voyages’ history, setting a powerful tone for 2026,” said Rodriguez. “A more than 60% year-over-year increase in bookings and nearly three times the volume of January 2024 signal not only heightened demand but also increased consumer confidence in the Atlas brand."
“The response from our travel partners has been incredible,” added Kristian C. Anderson, Executive Vice President of Global Sales. “We made a sincere commitment to provide our partners with enhanced access, additional layers of support, and a more robust in-market engagement, and we’re delivering on that promise."
