Azamara Club Cruises and Rocky Mountaineer have joined forces on Alaska itineraries for 2019. As part of the agreement, Rocky Mountaineer will develop special offerings of inclusive pre- and post-land programs for select Azamara Alaska voyages that year.
The combined Azamara/Rocky Mountaineer itineraries in Alaska will allow guests to call in ports like Homer and Sitka while also traveling on a luxury train through historical routes in the Canadian Rockies. Other notable amenities include scenic bike rides through Azamara’s Cruise Global, Bike Local program, as well as stays in premium hotels.
Alaskan voyages like the 10-day Alaska Intensive Voyage setting sail May 2019, the eight-day Alaska Adventure Voyage in June 2019 and the 10-day Alaska Showcase Voyage in July 2019 are all applicable for the Rocky Mountaineer package, the cruise line said.
The pre- and post-cruise land tours won’t be available online; instead, guests will either need to book through a travel agent or call Azamara directly.
The move marks the second major cruise partnership for Rocky Mountaineer announced in recent months. In February, Cunard inked a similar partnership with the luxury train provider, also on pre- and post-cruise programs in Alaska for 2019.
2019 will mark Azamara’s first-ever season sailing in Alaska. That year the Azamara Quest will offer a lineup of 11 itineraries ranging from eight to 10 days between that May and September, with a focus on late night stays, complimentary evening, locally focused events and optional shore excursions in small groups of 20 to 25 guests.
