Reservations opened this week for Crystal Endeavor’s upcoming “Luxury Iceland Expeditions,” beginning July 17, 2021. The first ship for Crystal Expedition Cruises will sail round-trip from its homeport of Reykjavík on five consecutive 10-night voyages circumnavigating Iceland and crossing the Arctic Circle exploring geothermal wonders, glaciers, waterfalls, rare sea bird colonies and migrating whales, remote valleys and villages throughout Iceland.
The German-built Crystal Endeavor is designed to accommodate just 200 guests with a one-to-one crew-to-guest ratio. Built at a cost of more than half a billion U.S. dollars at MV Werften, Crystal Endeavor is touted by the cruise line as the fastest and most powerful expedition ship in the industry, with a Polar Class 6 classification that enables it to sail in the Arctic and Antarctic regions.
Throughout the ship, Crystal hallmarks will accent guests’ onboard experience: Michelin-inspired dining options, including Master Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s Umi Uma & Sushi Bar, Prego, 24-hour room service and the Vintage Room experience; spacious social spaces; the only casino on an expedition yacht; a glass-covered, two-story solarium—which houses the Seahorse Pool and Jacuzzi; and the full-service Crystal Life Salon & Spa with a fitness center as well as a wrap-around Promenade Deck. Expedition-specific amenities and spaces will include enrichment areas, designated mud rooms and an Expedition Lounge. The ship’s marina will have a fleet of zodiacs, kayaks, snorkel gear and more.
Guests can now book the “Luxury Iceland Expeditions” with savings, reduced deposits and an extended final payment date to 60 days prior to first date of service, as well as other incentives. Cruise fares include double “Book Now Savings” at $3,000 for a limited time only. Guests will receive a $300 per person “As You Wish” shipboard credit. Crystal Society Savings will double to five percent, while new-to-Crystal guests will save 2.5 percent. Solo fares start at just 150 percent. Travelers with Future Cruise Credits and Future Cruise Payments may redeem them on these sailings. Guests wishing to extend their explorations in Iceland can select one-, two- or three-night hotel programs at Reykjavík’s Hotel Borg. Convenient air options are available from many major U.S. and European cities, as Iceland’s capital city is just six hours from New York City and three hours from London.
