AmaWaterways has announced that Libbie Rice, co-president of Ensemble Travel Group, will serve as Godmother of AmaMora, one of three new ships entering its fleet in 2019, the most since the company’s inception. Rice will bless the 156-passenger ship alongside AmaWaterways’ executive team and local dignitaries during a christening ceremony in Lahnstein, Germany the week of July 15, 2019.
Rice has served in various positions in the travel industry for more than 15 years, including roles in customer relationship management and revenue management for major airlines and hotel chains. She has received recognition for her work in quantitative marketing, revenue management, customer relationship management and information, as well as social media.
Rice has lived in Australia, Belgium and Hong Kong, and couples her passion for travel with adventure, including summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, bungee jumping with Ensemble members in Whistler and hang-gliding in Rio de Janeiro. Rice has served as co-president of Ensemble Travel Group since January 2011.
The sister ship to AmaLea, AmaMora offers a total of 78 staterooms, almost all with AmaWaterways’ signature twin balconies. On board, guests can enjoy regionally-inspired cuisine paired with hand-selected wines at the Main Restaurant and Chef’s Table Restaurant, as well as an all-day tapas menu, afternoon tea, complimentary daily Sip & Sail cocktail hour, and a 24-hour coffee station.
AmaMora will have a wide range of amenities including connecting staterooms well suited to multigenerational families. Guests looking to stay active can take advantage of the ship’s wellness activities, offering group fitness classes led by dedicated Wellness Hosts and the fitness center complete with treadmills and weights.
As on all AmaWaterways ships, AmaMora will carry a fleet of complimentary bicycles for guests to explore each destination. For the more leisure traveler, there also is plenty of room for lounging by the heated Sun Deck pool with swim-up bar. The ship also has complimentary Wi-Fi and in-room Entertainment On Demand, as well as massage and hair salon services.
Guests looking to immerse themselves in the local culture will enjoy a menu of up to 20 complimentary tours during a seven-night cruise traveling between Amsterdam and Basel. Highlights include the Rhine Gorge and Special Interest tours like the unique Lahneck Castle visit by candlelight.
AmaMora will begin her inaugural season June 3, 2019, sailing the seven-night Enchanting Rhine and Captivating Rhine itineraries between Basel to Amsterdam. The ship will also sail the festive Christmas Markets on the Rhine itineraries between November 25 and December 23.
