Explora Journeys has announced that in 2025, Explora II will be headed to the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2025. The latest ship in Explora Journeys’ fleet will be docked in Monaco’s famous Port Hercule, offering a prime position throughout race week. It will play host to a series of events, providing a venue for the race and its star-studded crowd.
Guests will be able to enjoy the Formula 1 experience with Explora II docked just 492 feet from the racetrack. Situated at the end of the harbor beyond the F1 Paddock, this will allow guests to immerse themselves in the excitement of Formula 1 and witness the action of the races, while enjoying European luxury and comfort. Onboard, guests can make use of 11 culinary experiences, unlimited premium beverages, high-speed Wi-Fi via Starlink connectivity, entertainment and wellness.
Leading up to the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2025, the Explora Journeys brand will be present trackside at major upcoming Formula 1 events.
Good to know: Explora will offer several programs in conjunction with the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2025. The first offering is a five-night "sailing" from May 21, 2025, to May 26, 2025. The ship will remain docked at Monte Carlo for the duration of the event, functioning more like a floating luxury hotel than a cruise ship. Alternatively, guests can join a sailing in Barcelona, Spain, on May 13, 2025. The week-long voyage will visit several Mediterranean ports before anchoring in Monaco for the F1 Grand Prix. After the race, guests can sail from Monte Carlo back to Barcelona from May 21, 2025 to June 2, 2025.
Guests can stay onboard Explora II for five days, enjoying luxurious accommodations and top amenities while experiencing the races in Monaco. Perfect for Formula 1 enthusiasts seeking a quick yet unforgettable getaway on a floating hotel. The final offering is a combination of the three, Barcelona to Monte Carlo and back to Barcelona from May 13, 2025, to June 2, 2025, totaling 20 nights onboard.
In 2022, MSC Cruises signed a multi-year deal to become a Formula 1 Global Partner. Through this partnership, MSC Cruises is able to showcase its extensive offering of holidays at sea to Formula 1’s growing global fanbase and "bring the thrill" of Formula 1 to MSC Cruises’ global audience. This collaboration is now extending to Explora Journeys with the presence of the ship as a floating luxury hotel in Monaco next year.
