Explora Journeys has opened bookings for summer 2027 itineraries, spotlighting a "trifecta" of firsts for the line. Under the banner “An Ocean of New,” the season will introduce new ports in the Mediterranean; welcome the launch of a new ship, Explora IV; and add Alaska itineraries onboard Explora III to the brand’s collection of destinations.
With the new itineraries, Explora Journeys has also announced the launch of LNG-powered Explora IV, the newest addition to its fleet. The ship will debut with expanded public areas including generous outdoor decks and an increased number of expansive residences. While Explora III and IV will explore new shores in summer 2027, Explora I and II will explore the Mediterranean, offering more than 60 itineraries and pausing at inaugural calls.
Guests can explore the Ottoman palaces of Istanbul and the Casbah of Algiers, wander the seaside villages and cliffs of Amalfi, and discover the archeological treasures and beaches of Olbia in Sardinia. New Adriatic ports include Croatia’s Trogir with its medieval town center and picturesque waterfront, and Toper, Slovenia’s coastal gem steeped in Venetian history.
For the first time ever, guests will also have the opportunity to experience Alaska’s wilderness, cultural vibrancy and hyper-local culinary scene with Explora Journeys aboard Explora III in summer 2027. Departing from Vancouver, these journeys will provide a rare chance for guests to explore Alaska from a unique perspective. Guests will sail the Whale’s Highway, spotting humpbacks and orcas, dolphins and seals. They will also visit coastlines sculpted by rivers of jagged ice, navigating islands scattered like jigsaw pieces. Guests can visit landmarks such as Mendenhall Glacier and Misty Fjord, as well as enjoy experiences such as learning the significance of totem poles; savoring Dungeness crab; kayaking on the Sitka Sound; and visiting the blue-domed St. Michael’s Cathedral.
Highlight journeys of the Alaskan 2027 summer season onboard Explora III include:
- “A Journey Through Untamed Landscapes & Coastal Treasures” (May 10 to 21, 2027) – This 11-night journey, round-trip from Vancouver, explores glacier-carved fjords and forested islands, with maiden visits to Sitka, Prince Rupert and the remote beauty of Endicott Arm.
- “An Extended Journey Across Alaska’s Wild Frontier” (July 2 to 16, 2027) – This 14-night itinerary, also round-trip from Vancouver, offers an exploration of Alaska’s raw wilderness and cultural heritage, from the Hubbard Glacier to Kodiak and the Indigenous heritage of Alert Bay.
