Explora Journeys has unveiled its latest “Destination Experiences” to Central America, the U.S. and Canada Pacific Coast and Hawaii between March to May 2024 onboard Explora I.
A 14 night journey from Amador to Los Angeles (March 29 to April 12, 2024) visiting ports such as Quepos, San Juan del Sur, Puerto Quetzal and Cabo San Lucas offers guests the chance to immerse themselves into Central American cultures. During a six-night journey from Los Angeles to Vanvouver, (April 12-18, 2024) highlights include stops in San Francisco and Astoria allows for discoveries along the American West Coast.
Guests can absorb the energizing atmosphere of Hawaii during two journeys: Nine nights from Vancouver to Honolulu (April 18-27, 2024) and nine nights from Honolulu to Vancouver (April 27–May 6, 2024). Key ports of call include Hilo, Honolulu, Kailua-Kona, Nawiliwili, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Panama.
Highlights of “Destination Experiences” include:
- “Tantalising Temazcal Immersion” – Guests can partake in a traditional temazcal ceremony in Cabo San Lucas. Led by a shaman, participants enter the candlelit temazcal, where water is poured onto hot stones, providing both physical detoxification and spiritual restoration. Post-ceremony, guests can savor local delicacies before unwinding at the spa with hot tubs and cold plunges.
- “Hollywood Hills Hike in Los Angeles” – Hiking through Griffith Park, travelers summit Mount Lee for an up-close encounter with the iconic Hollywood Sign. Led by guides, they learn about Hollywood’s history, discover landmarks and famous studios, and indulge in a picnic lunch in Griffith Park with views of the L.A. skyline.
- “Volcanic Marvels and a Celestial Odyssey in Off-grid Hawaii in Hilo” – Travelers can discover the Rainbow Falls, explore Boiling Pots and the Kaumana Caves, and visit two of Big Island’s five volcanoes with a National Park Service expert. Other experiences include witnessing celestial observations during the day and night with telescopes and experienced astronomers, offering views of galaxies, planets, and more.
- “Behind the Scenes: Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum and USS Missouri Memorial in Honolulu” – Exclusive guided tours of historic hangars, outdoor exhibits, and the Raytheon Pavilion await. Explorers can delve into the USS Missouri Memorial above and below deck, listen to tales of WWII dogfights and civilian aviation history. An exclusive experience of the Lower Control Tower, not available to the public, is also part of the journey.
