Aman has announced the appointment of Jonathan Wilson as CEO of Aman at Sea, which will launch a luxury motor yacht—developed through a joint venture between Aman and Cruise Saudi—to the world’s oceans in 2027.
An executive leader in the luxury hospitality and cruise industry, Wilson brings over 20 years of experience to the position. He will lead the development and implementation of Aman’s first luxury superyacht, working closely with Aman’s Chairman and CEO, Vlad Doronin, to deliver the brand’s vision and strategy. Wilson will also assemble a team both on land and aboard, “ensuring the vessel and guest experience reflects the level of detail and care revered across Aman’s hotels.”
Wilson previously served as vice president, customer experience and innovation at Hilton Worldwide from 2019 to 2021, where he oversaw the product development of 17 hotels. For over 15 years, he also held leadership roles with Princess Cruises and Cunard Line, including vice president positions in hotel operations, product development and food and beverage. During his tenure, he led the development of new products, including cruise ships, and completed revitalization projects to establish an exceptional culinary and entertainment offering, drive brand awareness, optimize growth for the company, and authored the brand’s cookery book, “Courses: A Culinary Journey.”
Developed through a joint venture between Aman and Cruise Saudi, the 600-foot vessel designed in partnership with SINOT Yacht Architecture & Design will have just 50 suites, with Aman’s eastern heritage and design philosophy integrated within the architectural vision. All suites will have a private balcony, while other ship spaces include an all-day restaurant, international dining outlets, a club and lounge, plus a spa—complete with a Japanese garden—a “beach club” offering direct access to the water and two helipads.
Originally slated to launch in 2025, Aman at Sea is now expected to debut in 2027, with its official name to be announced in time.
