Regent Seven Seas Cruises has returned to cruising from the U.S. with Seven Seas Explorer’s departure earlier this week from PortMiami, FL. The ultra-luxury ship is now operating an eight-night Caribbean voyage that calls at ports in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and Costa Rica, before the voyage ends in Colon, Panama.
Having spent a month in the Mediterranean, Seven Seas Explorer, helmed by Captain Rosario Vasta, is now exploring the Caribbean until March 2022 when the ship will return to Europe.
“Our return to Miami is another huge step forward as we re-introduce our fleet to the seas,” says Jason Montague, president and CEO, Regent Seven Seas Cruises. He adds that the line is delighted “to sail from the global home of cruising once again,” a reference to Miami’s status as serving the most cruise passengers annually of any port across the globe.
The ultra-luxury ship is now cruising with the cruise line’s enhanced SailSAFE Health and Safety Program, which includes 100 percent vaccination of both guests and crew. That robust and science-backed strategy creates multiple layers of protection against COVID-19. That program is also in place on Seven Seas Explorer, which began cruising in Europe during September 2021, and it will be added to other ships in the fleet as they restart cruising..
So, what's the latest on the line's restart plans? The next Regent Seven Seas' vessel to resume sailing will be Seven Seas Mariner on December 18, 2021, operating from PortMiami, followed by Seven Seas Navigator on January 6, 2022, also sailing from PortMiami. Finally, Seven Seas Voyager will return to service on February 15, 2022, from Barcelona, Spain.
