The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection commemorated a momentous milestone as it laid the keel for its third superyacht, Luminara. The traditional maritime ceremony took place at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France. In keeping with maritime tradition, the first modular block of Luminara was lowered into the building dock and symbolic coins were placed within the keel. This ceremonial gesture is intended to usher in good fortune and prosperity for the superyacht’s future voyages. Luminara is slated to debut on July 31, 2025.
“Luminara represents the culmination of innovative design and relentless pursuit of excellence. Every element reflects the dedication of our combined teams, promising unparalleled voyages for our guests,” said Jim Murren, executive chairman and CEO of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.
Luminara will measure 794 feet and accommodate up to 452 guests. In addition to 226 spacious suites, each with a private ocean-view terrace (and an overall higher percentage of upper-suite categories), the onboard experience will include fine dining, a wine vault, The Ritz-Carlton Spa and an expanded marina providing direct access to the sea.
Luminara will "embody contemporary craftsmanship and refined interior finishes" envisioned by AD Associates, a London-based architectural and design firm, with creative direction by Chapi Chapo Design, a Toronto-based luxury design firm, and lighting designer DPA. The yacht’s exterior design has been envisioned by Helsinki-based design studio Aivan.
Reservations for Evrima, Ilma and Luminara are now open.
