Seabourn has modified its 90-day “Grand Africa Voyage” to take travelers to the east, south and west coasts of the continent. Changes were made to the original itinerary to prioritize guests' safety and avoid the Red Sea while designing a new itinerary that keeps the original length of the cruise with an in-depth exploration of the African continent with only one repeat port.
Seabourn Sojourn will still sail round-trip from Barcelona departing on November 30, 2024. The revised itinerary includes visits to 42 marquee and off-the-beaten-path destinations and cities in 20 countries, with seven overnight stays. On sale now, the modified itinerary and additional details are available on Seabourn’s website.
The “Grand Africa Voyage” will provide a range of experiences for guests to explore Africa via safari, hikes, scuba, snorkeling, and cultural experiences such as a visit to a camel milk farm, botanical gardens, living archeological museums and more. Additionally, several optional multi-day Seabourn Journeys will be available at various destinations, offering in-depth opportunities to explore sites on land that cannot be accessed on single-day excursions from the ship, including a gorilla sanctuary, Victoria Falls, and more.
Destinations aboard Seabourn Sojourn include Mindelo, Ilha De São Vicente, Cape Verde; Maputo, Mozambique; Walvis Bay, Namibia; Victoria in Mahé, Seychelles; Cape Town, South Africa; Bom Bom Island, Sao Tome and Principe; Casablanca, Morocco; and Banjul, Gambia. The 2024 “Grand Africa Voyage” will also offer seven overnight stays at select destinations including Casablanca, Cape Town, Zanzibar, Port Elizabeth, Walvis Bay and Victoria.
Guests may also explore various regions with mid-cruise Seabourn Journeys, multi-day land-based packages designed to be an extension of their Seabourn experience. These mid-cruise Seabourn Journeys provide opportunities for guests to stay in unique properties and national parks in Botswana, Namibia and the Serengeti, and visit Victoria Falls, the Kariega Game Reserve (Settlers Drift), the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and more.
Guests who book the full 90-day “Grand Africa Voyage” will receive a menu of complimentary benefits and amenities, including a gala dinner and overnight hotel stay at Hotel Majestic before departure in Barcelona; an exclusive “Grand Voyage” event in Cape Town; special “Grand Voyage” pillow gifts; round-trip business-class air; $2,000 shipboard credit per ocean-view and veranda suite ($1,000 shipboard credit per person); $3,000 shipboard credit per penthouse and premium suite ($1,500 shipboard credit per person); private car transfers door-to-door between home and airport; personal valet luggage shipping service between home and ship in Barcelona; visa package (U.S. citizens only); and more.
