Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has promoted Kristian Anderson to executive vice president, global sales.
In his expanded role, Anderson will assume responsibility for driving revenue performance in support of all global travel partners for both Uniworld and U River Cruises. Anderson joined the company in 2016 as senior vice president of sales and reports directly to CEO Ellen Bettridge. Since joining Uniworld, Anderson has helped improve the cruise line’s sales strategy, enhanced its trade partnerships and delivered record results, according to Bettridge.
A 30-year travel industry veteran, Anderson was the senior vice president and general manager for the Americas region at Silversea Cruises prior to joining Uniworld and has served as the chairman on the Trade Relations Committee for Cruise Line International Association since 2018.
In August, Eddy Mestre was appointed to the newly created position of director of national sales for U River Cruises. He will focus on bringing a refined focus and collaborative energy to the initiatives of the sales, reservations, marketing and operations departments. Mestre’s previous role, business development manager, South Florida and the Caribbean was taken over by German Jones.
Uniworld has also recently announced free economy air on select 2020 cruises with an option to upgrade to Business Class air for $1,999 when booked by October 31, 2019. Thirty-nine gateways are included but other options are available upon request but will incur custom air fees, as well as any difference in fare. The option is available for cruise itineraries in Central Europe, France, Italy and Russia.
