The first three months of 2020 will see the addition of four new or renovated ships to Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection’s fleet. The move is part of a long-term plan to overhaul the cruise company’s offerings, bringing over half of its ships to ‘Super Ship’ status.
The Mekong Jewel will debut January 3, 2020, and sail 13-day itineraries on the Mekong River in Vietnam and Cambodia, stopping in Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh, Angkor Wat, Siem Reap and more. Constructed with sustainable and eco-friendly materials, the new ship will extend 10 meters longer than its sister ship the Mekong Navigator while still offering the same capacity.
Setting sail on January 6, 2020, the new S.S. Satet, named after the goddess of the Nile, will offer 12-day round-trip cruises out of Cairo. The 42-suite ship will use locally sourced Egyptian artwork, fabrics and hand-curved furnishings and will include three gourmet dining venues, a swimming pool and a massage room.
The all-new S.S. São Gabriel will launch a couple months later on March 26, 2020, and sail cruises of the UNESCO-designated Douro River Valley in Spain and Portugal. The ship’s entire top deck will offer luxury suites, all with butler service.
Uniworld’s River Countess will reemerge as the S.S. La Venezia on March 27, 2020, after a complete design renovation. The ship will offer 10-day itineraries, inclusive of a two-day land portion in Milan. The eight-day cruise will sail around Venice, the Po River and the three outer-lying Venetian islands: Burano, Mazzorbo and Torcello.
