Signature Travel Network has announced that Karryn Christopher, executive vice-president of preferred partnerships and marketing, has been named godmother of Viking Gersemi, one of Viking’s newest river ships. Christopher attended the naming ceremony held recently in Paris. The ceremony was also attended by several women who were named godmothers of other Viking ships. The celebration marked 25 years of sailing for the cruise line.
Christopher said that Viking’s list of industry achievements now includes taking delivery of 16 ships during the arduous course of the COVID-19 pandemic. She joined Signature 20 years ago following her work with a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit. During her time at Signature, Christopher has helped transform the company’s sales and marketing division with her leadership and marketing strategy.
Viking Gersemi is named for the Norse goddess of beauty. “I am so proud that Viking has chosen to recognize Karryn as a leader in our industry,” said Olga Placeres, chairwoman of Signature’s board of directors and co-owner of Preferred Travel of Naples. “She is a remarkable woman with a bright future ahead. I know our Signature members agree when I say we are blessed to have her as part of our Signature family.”
“Karryn is really the heart and soul of our Signature team,” said Alex Sharpe, president and CEO of Signature Travel Network. “Her strength and leadership abilities coupled with her ability to be a calming presence truly make this recognition feel tailor-made.”
