Amiri, the Los Angeles-based luxury brand, has announced the opening of its new flagship location at The Dubai Mall, Fashion Avenue, which is considered one of the world’s most exclusive luxury shopping destinations. The brand continues its international retail expansion to the United Arab Emirates with local retail partner Soho Middle East. The new location expands the global retail experience, marking the brand’s third international store alongside Shanghai and Tokyo.
Spanning 3,500 square feet, the new store continues Mike Amiri’s partnership with Paris-based design studio Nocod. Translating the Amiri design code, a dynamic balance of textures and materials forms a contemporary, gallery-like environment inspired by the brand’s craft and artistic language. Guided by architectural cornerstones, signature materials including walnut wood, paloma stone, marble and stainless steel are contrasted by warm, soft lounge spaces. These carefully curated spaces are defined by a contemporary eclecticism and decorated with Californian flora and furniture chosen by Mike Amiri in collaboration with interior designer Katherine Waronker.
Exhibited in-store is a site-specific artwork by California-born, Detroit-based artist Jason REVOK. It is composed of synthetic polymer and acrylic spray paint on a shaped canvas. REVOK is a self-taught artist whose practice incorporates elements from his background in graffiti art with a singular, post-painterly abstraction, using modest materials and industrial tools to create bold, geometric compositions.
The store in The Dubai Mall stocks the full range of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections, accessories, footwear and leather goods. Amiri Dubai will also offer an exclusive capsule collection dubbed “Dubai Palm Tree.” The collection consists of silk shirts and shorts, a T-shirt, hoodie, jersey shorts and hat, decorated with a new hand-painted botanical illustration, inspired by the date palm.
