The Bushcamp Company, located in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia, has announced restorations to five of its bush camps.
The luxury chalets have been enlarged, and bathrooms were redesigned to include new bathtubs. Eco-friendly decks have also been installed, and new soft furnishings have been added throughout the camp.
Renovations include:
Zungulila Bushcamp (open from May-January)
- The Chalet floors have been redone with wooden “tiles” and the rugs have been removed from the Chalets
- All wooden Chalet decks have been replaced with an eco-friendly composite decking
- The plunge pools have been removed, and freestanding tubs and a second shower have been installed
- All tents have been enlarged
- The furniture and soft furnishings in the main area have been replaced
Chindeni Bushcamp (open from May-December)
- All wooden decking from the Chalets and the main area have been removed and replaced with an eco-friendly composite decking
- The main deck has been enlarged and a fire pit has been installed
- The Chalet decks have been enlarged and pergolas have been installed
Chamilandu Bushcamp (open from June-November)
- All Chalets have been completely rebuilt and redesigned, replacing wooden floors with eco-friendly composite decking
- A raised sala for Chalet 1 has been built, which is reached by a raised walkway. This resting area for siesta time is covered with a pergola
- There is new furniture and soft furnishings for all Chalets and in the main area
- The viewing hide has been rebuilt and a photographer’s hide has been added at bottom with mattresses and viewing windows
Kapamba Bushcamp (open from April-January)
- Raised salas have been built for Chalets 1 and 4. This resting area for siesta time has been covered with a pergola
- The external walls for the chalets, dining, and guest toilet have been covered with stone
- All chalet verandas have been replaced with flagstone and pergolas have been added
- Select furniture has been replaced and soft furnishings have been added to all Chalets
Bilimengwe Bushcamp (open from May-December)
- A riverside boma seating area, which can be used for breakfast and tea
