In exciting news from the Caribbean, Jean-Michel Cousteau—son of the legendary French explorer Jacques Cousteau—has opened a dive center in Petit St. Vincent, located 40 miles south of St. Vincent in the Grenadines island chain. Jean-Michel Cousteau Diving Caribbean bills itself as “more than just diving”; the center will help guests “learn to understand and live up to their responsibility as Ambassadors of the Environment.”
Novices and experts alike are welcomed to partake in maritime adventures with Cousteau’s dive team, who’ve scouted out some of the prettiest dive sites the Caribbean has to offer. The dive center is a full-service operation with an array of PADI certification courses, dive packages, and equipment rentals. Jean-Michel Cousteau is the founder of Ocean Futures Society, a non-profit marine conservation and education organization, and the new dive center has a special focus on environmental conservation.
International access is via Barbados, with flight connections to Union Island.
