Little Voyage, a tour operator that provides tailor-made trips and experiences, has debuted a new journey to New Zealand—the “New Zealand Revealed” Retreat. This 14-night escape, priced at $250,000 for a group of four, includes private flights, stays at luxury lodges, sightseeing opportunities, outdoor excursions and more.
Travelers will get to experience the country’s natural surroundings from coastlines teeming with marine and birdlife, to snow-capped mountains, green hills, lakes, beaches, and geysers. Additionally, guests will enjoy the area’s authentic cuisine that blends new-world dishes made with local produce.
With this New Zealand experience, Little Voyage will take guests to a handpicked selection of exclusive luxury lodges from the Bay of Islands to Wanaka and Queenstown. Private flight transfers to each location provides views of the country from north to south, allowing guests to access some of the most isolated spots and more time to enjoy the many experiences on offer.
There are four privately chartered flights, a dozen helicopter flights over volcanoes, glaciers, mountains and forests, several private boat trips, a chance to swim with wild dolphins in Akaroa, and a trip along Lake Rotoiti to soak in the geothermal hot pools, only accessible by boat in a tribally owned Maori reserve. The trip also includes a full-board menu catered by private chefs, paired with a New Zealand wine selection and a private dinner on a veranda offering 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean in Matauri Bay.
Travelers can enjoy an Annandale Villas private farm in Akaroa, situated in one of the bays formed by a volcano more than six million years ago. This luxury coastal villa, with its isolated location, allows the space and time to relax and enjoy the natural scenery in peace.
Other accommodations include the Huka Lodge, with its renowned gardens, ranked as a “Garden of National Significance” and deemed to be of national importance to New Zealand. This private luxury property surrounded by scenic landscapes and cascading waterfalls offers an exclusive escape at the heart of the natural world.
Outdoors activities on the journey include: Tutoko Glacier walk at sunrise; time at a golf driving range located 4,900 feet high in the Southern Alps; and swimming with wild Hector dolphins, the world’s smallest, rarest dolphins in Akaroa Harbour, in a flooded crater of an extinct volcano sheltered by volcanic cliffs. Additional excursions include Maori cultural experience, jet boat trips, fly fishing, nature walks, forest hikes, cycling, horseback riding and paddle-boarding.
This trip is available at any time of the year, but Little Voyage recommends December to March, the best season to experience the country’s natural scenery.
