Safari company Natural Selection is welcoming back guests to the recently revamped Little Sable, in the heart of the game-rich Khwai Private Reserve in Botswana. Previously known as Jackal & Hide, the lodge has upgraded the interiors while maintaining the same intimate safari experience.
Little Sable offers eight traditional tents on raised wooden platforms, each with a private viewing deck, en-suite bathroom and a newly fitted outside shower. While the bedroom tents are smaller in size than its sister Sable Alley, the camp offers the same style with a touch of old-world English heritage mixed with the ambiance of African-inspired creativity. Little Sable has been redesigned by Tracy Kelly, the designer behind Sable Alley.
“Little Sable had its origins as a small photographic camp in a great location but with modest interiors. We compiled thoughts and ideas which all came together to create a unique camp that feels like a small home in the bush,” said Kelly in a press release. “Little Sable being the baby sister of Sable Alley was primarily inspired by the sable antelope and its colors yet drawing from the look, feel and colors that abound at Sable Alley.”
Part of the redesign included the extension of the outside deck area, creating a larger lounge and dining space. The firepit was moved to one side giving guests the opportunity to sit around the large crackling fire. The pool deck has also been enlarged, to offer guests an ideal game-viewing platform and photographic opportunities.
A short 20-minute drive from Sable Alley, Little Sable is ideal for guests looking for a serene and private safari stay in the Okavango Delta region.
