New Japan Wellness Options

Have clients with an urge to visit Japan and focus on well being activities? You’ll look like a hero with these two new “wow” luxury options. Here’s the lowdown: Aman Resorts’ sister brand, Janu, has opened its first hotel in Tokyo.

A highlight? We vote for the 43,055-square-foot spa and wellness center that spans four floors. Included is a huge gym with five movement studios for group exercise, including spinning, yoga, golf simulation and boxing, alongside a hydrotherapy and thermal area with an 82-foot indoor lap pool and heated lounge pool. We’re also all about the two signature Spa Houses, available for up to four guests on an exclusive basis.

Nice Touch: Most of Janu Tokyo’s rooms and suites have private balconies. (We hear Corner and Tower View Suites have great views through their extra-large windows.) Families and those traveling with entourages will love the large number of connecting rooms available. All accommodations have large bathrooms with double vanities, rain showers and soaking tubs.

The Janu Suite is the hotel’s largest individual accommodation with 3,056 square feet of living space. Its two balconies offer views of Tokyo Tower and Azabudai Hills. When combined with its three adjoining rooms, the Janu Suite reaches a total size of 5,586 square feet.

Meanwhile, Six Senses Kyoto has just opened and each of its 81 guestrooms and suites offer “Sleep With Six Senses” and other programs designed to deliver a good night’s rest.

Highlights include the “Ah-un” treatment, symbolizing “the pursuit of inner peace, balance and awakening in Zen” through a series of rituals and body and sound therapies.

Wait, there’s more. Wellness programs range from a half-day to six days with a focus on sleep, detox, yoga and fitness. Specialty suites here include a Premier Suite Garden with a private Japanese courtyard and a Three Bedroom Penthouse Suite.
