Some days you just wake up to good news and today we’re all about hearing that Ralph Lauren has opened a new flagship store on Via della Spiga in Milan. Lest you think this is only for your shopping-focused clients, reconsider. This new abode has The Bar at Ralph Lauren, which will serve up coffee and pastries earlier in the day, followed by lunch and apertifs, cocktails and wine (Yes, please). Tip: Expect to see burgers on the menu, which have been wildly popular in Lauren’s Paris locale (but were originally scoffed at as an American menu item that would never appeal to the local market).
Even better news? The bar opens up to a lovely courtyard where guests can experience Milan in a tranquil and fashionable setting for a bit. We hear the bar is likely to become a “see and be seen” venue in Milan, not just during Fashion Weeks but all year round.
The Milan flagship store is indicative of the Ralph Lauren Corporation’s targeted expansion across Europe, Asia and North America. Recent store openings in Italy include a Ralph Lauren store in Forte dei Marmi and Polo Ralph Lauren store in Florence. Previous openings across the region include Rome, Turin, Bergamo, Bologna, Catania, Palermo and Padova.
All told, “The World of Ralph Lauren” in Milan comprises five floors and nearly 16,000 square feet with a vibe that aims to be “distinctly American with the allure of Italian style and craftsmanship.”
Sounds like a great stopover for anyone in touch with Lauren's classic, "welcome to my amazing home" vibe.
