Earlier this month, Zuma New York implemented its all-new Omakase Gochiso brunch service. Omakase Gochiso (or "Chef’s Feast") was devised by Executive Chef Oliver Lange, and provides brunch fare with Zuma’s signature Japanese-izakaya style with Asian flavors and shareable plates.
Brunch-goers at Zuma New York have the choice between two menus: the Classic for $55 per person, which is served with one complementary Zuma brunch cocktail and the Nomimono (“the Signature”) for $75 per person, which includes a special Japanese pastry basket and two-and-a-half hours of free-flowing beverages.
Both menus open with miso soup for the table and then invite diners to experience the restaurant’s three unique, upscale food stations: the raw bar, the Robata grill and the sweets station. Both menus also provide guests with one signature brunch Main Course, or Tokujo.
At each of the three food stations, Zuma Chefs continually prepare and serve the food fresh. At the raw bar, guests can get sushi, maki rolls, sashimi and freshly shucked oysters with a ponzu, serrano pepper and lemon mignonette.
There is a selection of Japanese grilled items and small composed dishes from the restaurant kitchen over at the Robata grill. Traditional brunch dishes are reimagined with a Japanese twist in dishes such as the Mini Wagyu Brioche Burgers or the Tamago Benedict. A number of vegetarian and vegan options are also available to suit any dietary needs.
The dessert bar rounds out the brunch experience with a range of exotic fruits in addition to house-made truffles, and Japanese sweets, like Matcha Cream Puffs and Black Sesame Panna Cotta.
After visiting the three food stations, diners are served their Tokujo; options from the Classic Menu include Zuma favorites, like the Karashi Miso Chicken with Pickled Cabbage while the Signature Menu provides options like Black Cod Marinated in Saikyo Miso with Wasabi Citrus Sauce.
Zuma New York’s Sunday brunch service is available from 11:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., with last reservations at 2:30 p.m. Zuma New York is located in Midtown, Manhattan at 261 Madison Avenue, just off of 38th Street.
