As we recently reported, Caribbean tourism continues to rebound following the hurricanes last year, with six top hotels on the French island of St. Barth’s recently announcing reopening dates. On December 22, the Oetker Collection’s Eden Rock will open its doors on St. Jean Bay after a top-to-bottom renovation and restructuring. The goal has been to preserve the heritage and ambiance that’s so appreciated by repeat guests who come back year after year.
Built on a rocky promontory surrounded by white sandy beaches and the turquoise sea, Eden Rock has 34 guestrooms and villas. All accommodations received a makeover, and two new suites were added with private pools. Come 2019, the resort will unveil three new suites at the top of the rock.
The Sand Bar has been transformed, retaining the St. Barth's laid-back beach style, and the menu is still orchestrated by culinary maestro Jean-Georges Vongerichten. For music lovers, the restaurant will release a new, curated playlist that’s all about Eden Rock’s vibe. A new addition will be the Rémy Room and Bar, named after the Eden Rock’s first owner. There will be a sun deck dotted with loungers plus a casual beach bar.
Eden Rock welcomes families and children of all ages. Amenities include the Eden Rock Spa by Ligne St. Barth, personal fitness coaches, and complimentary paddle boards, kayaks and snorkeling equipment. Fun perk: Private recording sessions upon request.
General Manager Fabrice Moizan and his team tried to keep a positive approach in the difficult aftermath of Hurricane Irma. Looking forward to welcoming back the first guests in December, Fabrice says, “Both the hotel and the team are completely refreshed, full of energy and ready to rock and roll!”
