A $13 million renovation of the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North has brought the desert landscape inside the resort. As highlighted in a recent article in The Scottsdale Independent, the redesign touched all aspects of the nearly 20-year-old resort, from the public spaces to the casitas and suites.
The design was overseen by Whitespace Interiors, which took inspiration from the exquisite scenery of the surrounding Sonoran Desert. It’s also a celebration of the indoor/outdoor living that’s enjoyed year-round in Scottsdale, so the open-air patios of 100 different casitas and suites now have flat-screen televisions outside. In a nod to the desert, the contemporary decor of the 210 guestrooms are done up in earth tones, and incorporate natural materials like wood and metal.
The resort’s public spaces were also completely overhauled; new furnishings in the lobby were chosen to complement the striking views of the valley below. All loungers at the pools were replaced with chic, round daybeds and the 18 poolside cabanas also have an updated look. (Nice touch: While you relax by the pool, attendants will bring amenities such as iced teas, chilled towels, frozen treats and sunglass cleaning.)
The Spa—which has 14 treatment rooms and proposes a variety of desert-inspired treatments with botanicals like jojoba, prickly pear and sage—has a newly designed relaxation lounge. Last but not least: The resort launched a new Spanish steakhouse called Talavera earlier in the year. Adorned with paintings by local Mexican artist Gennaro Garcia, the restaurant serves Latin-inspired dishes like paella, dry-aged steak, jamón ibérico, seafood and tapas.
