The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park has just unveiled a fabulous makeover, which the hotel calls its “reawakening.” As part of the first phase, the hotel has debuted new guestrooms, suites, a Club Lounge and a La Prairie Spa.
The goal was to make guests feel as if they were staying in their very own townhouse in the heart of the city. To Note: The custom-made furnishings blend Beaux Arts classicism with contemporary style, which is reminiscent of New York’s penthouses; the color palette is intended to reflect the soft tones and natural shades of Central Park.
The 47 suites, inclusive of five Specialty Suites, received new configurations and custom furniture and artwork. The pièces de résistance are the two Legendary Suites, which are new additions to the collection and create opportunities for living quarters up to four bedrooms; they have bespoke furniture, distinct amenities and expansive living areas.
Good to know: For the best view of Central Park, we suggest opting for the Premier Park View Suites, located on the hotel’s upper floors.
We’re excited about the revamped honor bar, which allows guests to experience the ingredients of New York in the comfort of their own room with a selection of single-barrel bourbon developed in partnership by the city’s oldest whiskey distillery, Kings County Distillery. For more tastes of the city, hotel aligned with a variety of other local brands, such as North Fork Potato Chips, Tumbador Chocolate and Brooklyn Pilsner.
La Prairie Spa — the only one in the Northeast — has six treatment rooms, offering a plethora of facials, body treatments and nail services. Tip: The Ritz-Carlton also offers in-room treatments. Guests can also experience treatments created with inspiration from Central Park and the hotel’s signature scent.
In January 2019, the second phase of the renovations will include the lobby, lounge, bar and restaurant, although the concept is being kept under wraps (we’re told “guests can expect an enticing space where the luxury beverage experience is enlivened”).
