Adare Manor, a renowned resort hotel in Limerick, Ireland, is opening its doors this fall after its largest refurbishment in 25 years.
The hotel closed its doors in January of 2016 for an 18-month refurbishment. The transformation has been designed by acclaimed RSA architects along with Richmond interior designers, who are continuing to honor the building’s Neo-Gothic heritage while incorporating new and contemporary technologies and amenities. The restoration of this long-time hotel includes internal finishes, furniture, woodwork and repairing external stonework and windows.
Adare Manor general manager Anita Higgins said in a written release that the rejuvenation of the hotel is “an exciting new beginning” in its history. She said that with the renovation, they have “woven the multiple Adare stories into the fabric of the new additions,” in an effort to stay true to the hotel’s roots while also celebrating its history and heritage.
The renovation includes an expansion that will include a new 42-bedroom wing, totaling up hotel room count to 104 guestrooms and includes the existing Manor House accommodations. An expansive ballroom is also being added, with a 350-person capacity meant for weddings and other special events. Both expansions will be clad in limestone, which serves as a tribute to the detail of the original Manor House.
Once complete, the Manor House will also be home to a new state-of-the-art spa with treatments by La Mer, a pool, relaxation area, boardroom and cinema. Adare Manor’s 800 acres of parkland, walled gardens and walking trails will also be enhanced for guest enjoyment. In addition, there are plans in place for the complete redesign of the golf clubhouse by David Collins Studio London. World-renowned golf course designer Tom Fazio has also been engaged in overseeing the redesign of the golf course.
