A brand-new hotel is coming to the Dolomites mountain range: Adler Lodge Ritten, a sister to properties like Adler Thermae in Tuscany and Adler Lodge Alpe will debut June 2019.
The hotel will be set on the Ritten plateau and overlook some of the Dolomites’ mountain peaks, such as the Rosengarten and the Latemar. Like its sister properties, Adler Lodge Ritten is committed to an eco-conscious existence with its sustainable construction and locally inspired cuisine. It has been built according to the Klimahaus (Climate House) standards, meaning it has met strict criteria for both energy conservation and environmental protection. Local timber was used to construct the buildings, which are modeled after rural alpine dwellings and designed to blend into the landscape.
The hotel will consist of a spacious main building with reception area, lobby, bar, restaurant and spa. There will be two additional structures for guest accommodations, each with ten junior suites. Also, scattered throughout the property will be 20 one- and two-story chalets, some set around a small lake. The rooms will have private bio saunas and either balconies or terraces, and chalets will include wood-burning fireplaces. Good to knowL The room rate will have an “inclusive arrangement," that encompasses all meals, soft drinks, wines and spirits.
Chef Hannes Pignater is planning to offer menus that focus on regional and local products, as well as red and white wines. As a reflection to the hotel's commitment to sustainability, the kitchen will house ingredients sourced from local farmers and reduces carbon emissions by shortening the travel distances for deliveries. Additionally, Chef Pignater will aims to use organic ingredients whenever possible.
For amenities, facing the Sciliar peak, the hotel's spa will offer a choice of three saunas: One classic steam sauna in the main building, as well as two saunas located deep in the forest. There will also be customized face and body treatments that will incorporate extracts, oils and other products from the Adler care line. A heated infinity pool is also available year-round.
Additionally, Renon’s historic narrow-gauge railway, the Rittnerbahn, stops just outside the hotel at the Stella station, so a car is not needed during the stay. The city of Bolzano is just a 12-minute ride away via cable car. Activities are designed to highlight each season and might include skiing, snowshoeing, Nordic walking, wine tasting or cycling; the hotel offers complimentary electric bike rentals. Nearby cultural sites include the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, the 13th-century Mareccio Castle and the Duomo di Bolzano cathedral.
