Oman’s Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara introduced its new a la carte wellness program focused on healthy living. Designed by the resort’s new wellness guru Ratheesh Krishnan, Balance Wellness by Anantara focuses on offering guests a combination of healthy cuisine, activities and therapies that best suit them.
The program’s creator, Krishnan brings 14 years of experience in the health industry and experience working at various leading resorts. Guests start off with a personal consultation to determine the needs and goals of the individual. Then depending on the length of their stay, guests pick from a range of options, with the help of trained experts, to determine what fits them best. Guests can choose to complete the program in three, five or seven days.
The retreat provides spa treatments, purification therapy, nutritious cuisine and individual activity sessions that range from yoga to hiking the mountainous coast of Salalah. Specifically, the program offers access to the region’s only luxury hammam. Guests also receive discounts on any additional spa and wellness treatments depending on the length of their stay.
Despite the restrictions that a healthy diet can pose, the resort has brought in Italian vegan chef Valeria Agnelutto to spice up the cuisine aspect of the program. Dishes include Italian pasta e fagioli and chickpea burgers with rosemary, parsley and veggie mayo. Each plate comes with a detailed nutritional breakdown and a vitamin-packed raw juice.
