Aman has announced its 21st destination and the latest addition to its 35-project collection: Aman Maldives, a private island oasis in the Vavuu atoll. It will feature a 52-key resort and 16 branded residences, designed by longtime Aman collaborator Kerry Hill Architects.
Located in one of the most secluded and exclusive parts of the Maldives, known for diving, the architechture takes inspiration from the white coralline beaches and clear waters for which the destination is so renowned.
With standalone pavilions ranging from one to three bedrooms, some located on the main resort island and others on its extensions, each will include a private pool. In addition, the property will offer a variety of restaurant venues, beach club and several private dining locations.
The resort's expansive spa facilities will span 8,655 square feet. Situated on its own island, dedicated to wellbeing, the spa will bring new experiences in health and rejuvenation to the destination including two private Spa Houses, a signature of Aman. The property will also feature a dive center and watersport activities, for exploring the country’s reefs.
Home to 16 Aman Residences — ranging from five to 10 bedrooms, Aman Maldives will provide personal enclaves of seclusion and sunrise experience from their far eastern vantage point. With each residence set on its own islet complete with a private beach, the properties will feature an 82-foot swimming pool and personal landing jetty, while still being in close proximity to the main resort’s amenities.
The arrival of Aman Maldives will take the brand’s presence to 21 destinations and joins Beverly Hills, Niseko and Bangkok, among others, in a robust pipeline of forthcoming properties. Construction is now underway, with further details and a confirmed opening date to be announced in due course.
