Aman is planting its flag in Gangnam.
The ultra-luxury brand on Wednesday announced Aman Seoul, its first destination in South Korea, set in the Cheongdam neighborhood overlooking the Han River. Developed in partnership with Shinsegae Property, the global asset management and development arm of Korean retail giant Shinsegae Group, the project is conceived as a fully integrated destination comprising a hotel, a limited collection of branded residences, and a global Aman Club.
The announcement extends what has become one of the most aggressive growth runs in ultra-luxury hospitality. Aman opened Aman Nai Lert Bangkok in April 2025, following the added urban expansion with Aman New York, and its announced pipeline includes Aman Miami Beach in the Faena District and the first phase of Aman Beverly Hills, along with the debut Aman at Sea yacht and forthcoming properties in Dubai and Singapore. The group is simultaneously scaling its younger sister brand, Janu, which debuted with Janu Tokyo in 2024 and has a pipeline that includes upcoming openings in Dubai, Turks and Caicos, and Saudi Arabia, plus a second United Arab Emirates property on Ras Al Khaimah's Al Marjan Island.
An opening timeline for Aman Seoul has not been announced.
The property is positioned as a retreat above the city, with architecture and interiors developed in dialogue with craftspeople rooted in South Korean sensibilities. Suites and public spaces draw on Korean spatial traditions and materiality, while dedicated entrances and arrival sequences give the hotel, the residences, and the Aman Club each their own sense of privacy and identity.
Wellbeing anchors the project, with spa and wellness facilities spanning multiple floors, complemented by a global food and beverage program that includes the brand's own dining concepts. The Aman Club — a private setting for residence owners and members — will feature a dedicated pool, fitness facilities, and social spaces. Within the residences, Aman Interiors brings the brand's aesthetic language into the home.
"Few cities have evolved as rapidly or as confidently as Seoul. Today, it sits at the intersection of culture, design, technology and wellness, a global influence on how people live far beyond South Korea," said Vlad Doronin, chairman and CEO of Aman Group. "Aman Seoul represents our conviction in the city's future and our desire to build a permanent home for the Aman lifestyle within it. By bringing together a hotel, residences, Aman Club in the heart of Gangnam, we are creating an urban sanctuary where Aman loyalists can engage with the energy of Seoul while remaining immersed in the qualities that define Aman: privacy, exceptional service and a profound sense of cultural connection."
"Aman Seoul represents far more than a hotel development; it will set a new benchmark for luxury living in Seoul," added Chung Yong-jin, chairman of Shinsegae Group. "Drawing on our expertise in creating distinctive destinations, we will continue to shape innovative spaces that bring new value and inspiration to the way people live."
The project follows a new strategic partnership announced in July between Shinsegae Group and OKO Group, the U.S.-based real estate development company founded and led by Doronin.
