Amanyara, located on a stretch of a private beach in Turks and Caicos, will welcome Nashville-based chef, author and television personality Maneet Chauhan as part of its evolving culinary offerings. Chef Chauhan will showcase Indian and South Asian cuisine at Amanyara’s Beach Club on April 15 and 16, 2022.
The menu for both evenings will include bespoke dishes influenced by methods and flavors from her native India combined with seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, such as coconuts and freshly caught seafood. The dishes will be prepared with the freshest ingredients and paired with craft cocktails such as star anise negroni and saffron old fashioned. Both dinners will be set alfresco in the resort’s Beach Club. Guests can also enjoy upbeat Indian music.
The recipes will showcase the vastness of South Asian culinary traditions within a family-style setting, encouraging connection and community. Featured dishes will include tuna and pomegranate pani puri, lobster and grapefruit moilee and black truffle naan. Chef Chauhan will also serve unique interpretations of Indian classics, such as short rib vindaloo and morel biryani.
David Pooley, director of food and beverage, Amanyara, said, “Chef Chauhan’s cuisine is sure to satisfy, surprise and delight in every way, and showcase her innovative merger of indulgent ingredients with traditional Indian cooking techniques.”
Born in Punjab, India, Chef Chauhan worked at some of India’s finest hotels before moving to the U.S. to study at the Culinary Institute of America. She is the founding partner and president of Morph Hospitality Group in Nashville. A changemaker in the Nashville community, Chef Chauhan opened her first restaurant in 2014, Chauhan Ale & Marsala House, under Morph Hospitality Group with the goal of filling gaps in the destination’s culinary landscape. This was followed by Tansuo, a Chinese concept; The Mockingbird, a global diner; and Chaatable, an Indian street food concept. Chef Chauhan has authored a cookbook, “Chaat,” and was the recipient of the 2012 James Beard Foundation Broadcast Media Award for her role as a permanent judge on Food Network’s “Chopped.”
The resort offers onsite COVID-Testing facilities for guests to meet the requisite travel requirements for return to the U.S.
