Making its debut into Europe, Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas launched Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort, set among orange grove trees and wetlands.
A 15-minute drive from Faro International Airport, Anantara Vilamoura is located close to the ocean, marinas and beaches of the Algarve and has views of the Arnold Palmer-designed Oceânico Golf Course.
The resort has 280 recently upgraded guestrooms, and has teamed up with local artisans from the TASA Project to create unique pieces for the 17 Anantara Suites, including hand-woven pool bags, locally sourced cork coasters and signature Algarvian ceramic fruit bowls. Additional comforts include an in-room wine humidor, pillow menu and on-call butler. Suite guests also have exclusive access to the indoor pool and sauna at the Anantara Spa. The Presidential Suite has a terrace with a private dining area, a new Jacuzzi and a sundeck.

Anantara has also partnered with World Wide Kids Company, a resort childcare specialist. The Adventurers Crèche and Adventurers Kids Club, which will open mid-May, will offer arts and crafts, cooking classes, an open-air cinema, adventure safaris, and more. Teens will have The Hub to hang out at, as well as golf clinics and the dance academy.
The newly renovated Anantara Spa has a selection of therapies including the signature Traditional Thai Massage, Ayurveda rituals, and treatments using locally sourced ingredients. Yoga and tai chi sessions are also available, as is a 24-hour gym with dedicated personal trainers and tennis courts.
Executive chef Bruno Viegas leads Anantara Vilamoura’s six bars and restaurants, which includes: a wine-oriented restaurant, EMO; a lunchtime restaurant, Ria; an all-day dining restaurant, Victoria; poolside dining at Palms Pool Bar; the adult pool bar, Cascades; and the Anantara Bar and Lounge. Resident wine guru António Lopes, who was voted Best Sommelier of Portugal in 2014, will host tasting sessions.
Dining by Design offers a choice of connoisseur menus coupled with idyllic settings, alongside the services of a personal chef and butler. The Spice Spoons cooking class combines a visit to the nearby Loulé fresh food market with an interactive cooking class in an open theatre kitchen with the chef.
Anantara Vilamoura also offers a golf guru, tailored to each golfer´s needs. Guests will have access to a wide variety of activities and guided excursions.
The stand-alone Conference Centre has capacity for up to 800 people among eight versatile meeting spaces, most with natural light.
