There's plenty going on in Austria at the moment. Recently, Michael Gigl of the Austrian Tourist Office, told us about a slew of updates in both Bad Gastein and Vienna. And, right on cue, Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere opened on April 30, marking the Andaz brand’s entry into Austria. Located in the new Quartier Belvedere, the property is the fourth Andaz branded hotel in Europe, joining Andaz London Liverpool Street, Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht and the recently opened Andaz Munich Schwabinger Tor.
Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere will blend classic and contemporary, as it takes cues from the Belvedere Palace (the summer residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy,a leading developer and art collector in his time), while showcasing contemporary art and design. For travelers looking to explore more of the classical component, the hotel’s location offers access to historical landmarks, including the Belvedere Palace and the Botanical Gardens; it's also only a short walk away from Vienna’s main train station, allowing guests to explore the new city district Quartier Belvedere and its green surroundings.
The hotel comprises two separate buildings connected by numerous bridges, sharing a spacious lobby lounge on the ground floor.
The hotel has 303 guestrooms, including 44 suites. Continuing its inspiration from Prince Eugene of Savoy, each guestroom includes modern interiors, with an infusion of local and artistic details. The floor-to-ceiling windows in each room offer views of Quartier Belvedere in the city center or the nearby Belvedere Palace. Each guestroom was designed with sustainability practices in mind, using less plastic and replacing it with more environmentally friendly materials like leather and paper. The bathroom amenities are provided by Saint Charles Pharmacy.
Inspired by the Northern Lights, Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere’s rooftop bar, Aurora, has a Scandinavian-inspired cocktail menu to pair alongside bar snacks. Located on the 16th floor, the Nordic-designed bar offers views of Vienna and has an open fire pit and music from a DJ. Also part of dining, Eugen21, a contemporary Austrian tavern, combines classic and modern cuisine. The menu here is inspired by what Prince Eugene would have dined on—but with a modern twist. Eugen21's cocktail menu comprises an Austrian-European wine list, traditional cocktails and beers. For health-conscious guests, Cyclist offers eats on the go. Guests can order sandwiches, salads and hearty dishes complemented by a variety of specialty coffees, such as Viennese Melange. Cyclist also focuses on regionalism and sustainability in packaging and products.
Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere is home to three creative studios for small events, in addition to a 7,588-square-foot ballroom and 2,604 square feet of other meeting and event space. The hotel also offers a health and wellness area complete with an array of treatments and amenities as well as a fitness center. Gözde Eren will serve as general manager.
Additionally, World of Hyatt is offering members the opportunity to earn 500 bonus points for qualifying nights at Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere from May 15 – August 31, as apart of World of Hyatt’s new hotel member offer.
