Andaz will make its debut in Thailand with the opening of a new beach resort. Slated to open in the first quarter of 2023, Andaz Pattaya Jomtien Beach is located on a six-and-a-half-hectare plot of beachfront land between Pattaya and the fishing village of Bang Saray. The project has retained the gardens and fully grown trees, including the rain tree that greets guests upon arrival. Thai teakwood houses that have stood on the site for more than 70 years have been fully restored, while natural, locally sourced materials and handmade arts and crafts have been incorporated throughout the resort.
The resort’s 204 rooms and suites have been arranged in clusters around the gardens and have walk-in rain showers and a balcony or terrace with a daybed. The Lagoon Access rooms let guests step straight into the resort pool; the Pool Suites allow guests to cool off with a private dip at any time of day; and the Beachfront Suites are set on the sand. Two heritage houses have been transformed into a duplex four-bedroom Manor House and a six-bedroom Presidential Heritage House. Each of these offers private pools, courtyards, butler service and ocean views.
The resort offers six F&B venues. Wok Wok serves Thai and Asian dishes; La Cucina is an Italian trattoria; Village Butcher is a steakhouse; and Fish Club is a seafront restaurant where sustainably sourced seafood is cooked on a coconut husk grill. Chefs will pick native herbs and spices from the onsite organic garden.
The Teak Lounge is where guests can enjoy refreshments under the rain tree, and Ruen Thai is a traditional teahouse with indoor-outdoor seating. This restored two-level heritage building can also host intimate events. For larger occasions, the 3,229-square-foot Garden Pavilion features floor-to-ceiling windows, a pre-function foyer, outdoor terrace and show kitchen.
The resort will have three swimming pools, including a lap pool, a freeform family pool next to the children’s club and a beachfront pool. At the Panpuri Spa, guests can experience soothing therapies with organic skincare products. Other facilities include a fitness center and a yoga room.
Good to know: Sustainability is integrated throughout the resort; rainwater is harvested and used to keep the gardens fresh, while motion sensor LED lighting and smart AC systems reduce energy use. Andaz operates a no single-use plastic policy and only uses responsibly farmed ingredients in its restaurants.
Andaz Pattaya Jomtien Beach is located near Pattaya’s popular attractions. It is a two-hour drive from Bangkok. Suvarnabhumi Airport is a 90-minute drive away and U-Tapao Airport can be reached in just 20 minutes.
