A new hotel collection has debuted this month, reflecting the shift among luxury travelers towards unique experiences. Currently comprising 24 hotels in its portfolio, Utopian Hotel Collection is a hand-picked group of independent luxury hotels that focuses on authenticity. To quote the official press release, these hotels are “characterized by a youthful mindset, intriguing stories and playful characters.” Also important: “Seamless technology” and service that “goes that extra mile to guarantee memorable experiences” for guests. The hotel’s story matters—its link to a destination—as does “unexpected adventure.”
The Emblem Hotel
The collection was co-founded by Paul Cordier and Ronald Homsy, veterans of the hospitality industry. Utopian Hotel Collection offers hotels a booking platform and membership services, including marketing, public relations, sales, distribution, reputation management and revenue management.

Here’s a look at some of the properties in the portfolio: Between the Louvre and the Opera in the French capital, the Nolinski Paris has been turning heads since it debuted in July 2016. (There’s décor by design darling Jean-Louis Deniot, a popular restaurant, spa by Swiss brand La Colline, and in-room perks like a D-Vine wine machine in the suites.) Here, guests can partake in an old-school photoshoot with the famous Studio Harcourt, amongst other experiences that are très français. Meanwhile in Italy, guests of the Hotel Furnirussi Tenuta can go fig picking in Europe’s biggest fig plantation, while art fans will enjoy the art collection at the Emblem Hotel Prague. Try heli-yoga during a summer stay at Le Grand Bellevue Hotel in Switzerland, or take a boat out for a spin on Lake Lucerne while staying at Park Hotel Vitznau.
