In Aspen, CO, Hotel Jerome, Auberge Resorts Collection, has unveiled its property expansions and renovations. After a year of undergoing the updates, which included the takeover of the neighboring historic Aspen Times building, Hotel Jerome is set to show off its new, spacious residential-style suites, outdoor social spaces, underground bar and more.
As part of the renovation, the property’s existing 93 rooms, suites and residences were supplemented with two three-bedroom, three-bathroom-residential style suites just behind the Aspen Times building. Each 2,000-square-foot suite resides on a private floor with space for entertaining, a fireplace, queen sleeper sofa and a well-appointed kitchen. Both suites will have balcony views facing Aspen “Ajax” Mountain. Rates will start at $3,250 per night and range up to $12,500, pending season/availability.
Outside, the hotel redesigned its courtyard, swimming pool and terrace. The emerald garden—located between the Aspen Times building and hotel—will serve as the community’s outdoor living room. This space will be prime for private outdoor events such as summer weddings, seasonal food kiosks and more.
Back inside, Bad Harriet is a sexy new addition to the Aspen social scene. The underground bar, named after the hotel’s original developer and proprietor, Jerome B. Wheeler, honors trailblazing women of yesteryear and today. Located in the historic Aspen Times, the bar will offer craft cocktails and gourmet noshes—named after women.
Good to know: While not connected, the Aspen Times building is located directly next to the hotel’s main building. The renovation of the structure preserved the original Aspen Times façade marquee. It will serve as a social event space with the capacity for roughly 60 people.
