Auberge Resorts Collection has announced that Robert Whitfield will join the company in July 2023 as area vice president.
Whitfield will oversee development, operations, sales and marketing, finance, and culture for the brand’s West Coast properties. His scope will include Bishop’s Lodge, Auberge Resorts Collection (Santa Fe, N.M.), Goldener Hirsch, Auberge Resorts Collection and The Lodge at Blue Sky, Auberge Resorts Collection (Park City, UT), Hotel Jerome, Auberge Resorts Collection (Aspen, CO), Madeline Hotel & Residences, Auberge Resorts Collection (Telluride, CO), Mauna Lani, Auberge Resorts Collection (Hawaii), Solage, Auberge Resorts Collection and Stanly Ranch, Auberge Resorts Collection (Napa Valley, CA) and The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, Auberge Resorts Collection (Los Olivos, CA).
Over the last decade, Whitfield held a regional role with the Dorchester Collection in England, and was also regional vice president with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in the Americas. His strong senior leadership has resulted in the success of multiple properties, hotel openings, re-brands and renovations, as well as the development and recruitment of outstanding talent. In his new role, he will develop, deploy and oversee strategy and operations with openings, transitions and existing Auberge Resorts Collection properties.
Having previously lived and worked in Northern California, Whitfield looks forward to returning to Marin County and reconnecting to the region through his passions of running, mountain biking, cooking and wine.
