The groundbreaking of The Dunlin, Auberge Resorts Collection was recently announced by Kiawah River, a 2,000-acre waterfront community and the Charleston region’s first "agrihood." The family-friendly resort is slated to open in 2024.
Planned with 72 cottage-style guestrooms and suites and 19 villas, the grounds of The Dunlin, Auberge Resorts Collection will have a main lodge with a wraparound porch, communal great rooms and a library lounge. Architect Robert Glazier was tabbed to lead the design of the property, while Amanda Lindroth of Lindroth Design is spearheading the interior design. Auberge Resorts Collection is also building private villas that will be available for purchase at Kiawah River.
Resort amenities will include a pool with cabanas, a spa, a community farmstead providing dining destinations with local produce, nature excursions, access to Kiawah River’s Spring House – a riverfront swim and fitness facility, and two event spaces for social gatherings and meetings. The signature riverfront restaurant will also include an outdoor deck.
“For the past several years, we have built a vibrant community at Kiawah River,” said John Darby, CEO of The Beach Company, which is one of the development partners of Kiawah River. “Today’s groundbreaking signifies our next phase of development, and we are thrilled to see how The Dunlin, Auberge Resorts Collection enhances the experience."
