The Augustus Hotel & Resort in Forte dei Marmi, Tuscany, has announced the acquisition of Villa Radici.
Villa Radici was built in the same period during which architect Osvaldo Borsani designed the nearby Villa Pesenti, the resort’s first development, showcasing 1930s architecture in Forte dei Marmi. The origins of the two villas are intertwined with the stories of their owners: Barbara Radici was the sister of Augusta Pesenti, founder of the Augustus Hotel & Resort, which for over 20 years was the only "De Luxe hotel in the whole of Versilia."
The renovation of Villa Radici will be led by Discreet Architecture, in collaboration with international architecture and design firm De.Tales. The interiors, on two floors, will offer generous spaces for seven apartments. Renovation work is due to start in autumn 2024 and the property will open its doors to guests of the Augustus Hotel & Resort next summer.
Founded in 1953, the Augustus Hotel & Resort, with its private grounds, includes the main luxury hotel (former Villa Pesenti); La Nave, a modern complex with spacious rooms, as well as a fitness and wellness center with balconies and views of the Apuane Mountains; seven private villas with hotel service; and the Augustus Lido (former Villa Agnelli). directly connected by a private underpass to the Avgvstvs Beach and its restaurant. Other villas in the complex include Villa Franca, Villa Il Conventino, Villa Fiocchi, Villa Fiocchina, Villa Magenta, Villa Rondine, Villa Rane, Villa Ala Anita and Villa Ala Bianca, plus the newly added Villa Radici.
The luxury hotel facilities for guests include two heated pools, one in the garden and one on the beach with jacuzzi, two restaurants, two lounge bars, spa and fitness room, bicycles, boats and complimentary Wi-Fi.
