Autograph Collection Hotels has announced the opening of The Laylow following an extensive $60 million renovation. The Laylow joins a portfolio of more than 100 independent hotels around the world.
Set on Kuhio Avenue in Waikiki, the 251-room hotel blends modernism with hints of Hawaiian culture. Each guestroom and suite has custom-created mostera leaf wallpaper, surf photography books and authentic ukuleles. The rooms' color scheme blends warm tones with pops of orange, ocean hues and tropical pink.
The Laylow's signature restaurant, Hideout, serves Pacific Rim classics with ingredients that are locally sourced—most of which executive chef Bryan Byard gets from the ocean and local farms. Breakfast, lunch and dinner menus include options like Kauai prawn and crab cake eggs benedict with mango hollandaise, coconut porter short ribs and Kalua pork and Wagyu burker.
Hideout extends to an open-air terrace with two fire pits overlooking Kuhio Avenue. Steps away, guests can enjoy the saltwater pool encased in a deck of Brazilian hardwood. The deck is dotted with lounge chairs, daybeds and private cabanas.
Also available to guests are the retail and dining options of the recently redeloped Kuhio Avenue and International Marketplace.
