Avant Mar, a boutique hotel, has opened on the Greek island of Paros. It is built in a “village within a village” style, and offers 38 rooms and suites. Paros is a traditional island that is home to historic villages, bougainvillea-laden alleys, golden beaches and hidden coves.
Avant Mar is located right on the shores of the Aegean waters and stretches across Piperi beach. It is also just a four-minute walk from Naoussa, and is easily accessible from both Paros and Athens by plane, or from the ports of Piraeus and Rafina by high-speed ferry. Once in Paros, Avant Mar is a quick 15-minute drive from the port of Parikia.
Of the hotel's 38 guestrooms, seven are luxury suites with private plunge pools. There is also a 180-foot-long swimming pool. Curved surfaces and embossed elements—complemented by shades of blues of the sea, white of the traditional Cycladic houses, and the golden shade of the sand—create the Avant Mar color palette, a concept designed by Chadios Architects.
Avant Mar welcomes Chef Nobu Matsuhisa to Paros with the opening of Matsuhisa Paros. Adding to the existing 14 locations worldwide, this is the first taste of Nobu-style cuisine on the island, set within a Mediterranean garden by the sea. Encompassing an open kitchen concept and a sushi bar, Matsuhisa Paros also houses a resident DJ. The gastronomic offering is complete with all-day dining restaurant Thymes, led by Chef Dimitris Katsanou, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner by the pool. In another corner of the hotel, guests can find Figs pastry shop, serving traditional Greek sweets and pastries.
The wellness space at Avant Mar sports a semi-outdoor design. Treatments can be enjoyed outdoors, and there is also an open-air theater for yoga and Pilates.
