The Balmoral, a Rocco Forte hotel, has revealed a new look for one of its signature suites, The Glamis. Designed by Olga Polizzi, Rocco Forte Hotels’ director of building and design, and sister to Sir Rocco Forte, this royal suite is named after Glamis Castle, childhood home of Queen Elizabeth.
Occupying over 1,000 square feet, the space overlooks the entrance to the hotel on Princes Street. The new entrance to the Glamis Suite offers discrete check-ins. Upon entering through patinated bronze screens, guests will find a Scottish baronial table set for four in the dining room. Including a fireplace and an antique chandelier, the sitting room has a color palette of emerald and amethyst; the space also house a Shinola record player and a vinyl collection. Available for guests to enjoy, the record menu offers collection tailored to guests’ music tastes. Very cool!
At the center of the master bedroom is a full-height, half-tester bed with a tapestried canopy. Completing the suite, the bathroom decor is Arabascato marble-clad with a freestanding bath and a vintage Czechoslovakian glass chandelier plastered above.
We love that Glamis Suite guests will be receive turndowns from luxury cashmere brand Johnstons of Elgin and fragrance house, Kingdom Scotland.
The Glamis Suite includes personal concierge services before and during any stay; a full, in-room bar; breakfast in suite or in Brasserie Prince by Alain Roux; unpacking and packing service (as well as the pressing of up to four garments); in-house movies and high-speed Wi-Fi access.
